Dental Prosthesis

Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace missing teeth or to solve functional and aesthetic problems caused by the loss of teeth. Dentures offer a solution to restore normal chewing function, speech ability and an aesthetic smile to patients who are missing or have lost teeth. Dentures consist of artificial teeth that are placed in the mouth and are compatible with the gums.

Dentures are generally divided into two main categories:

Fixed Dentures:

Crowns: They are used to cover or restore a single tooth. It can be thought of as a crown fixed in place of a missing tooth.
Bridges: Used to cover or fill one or more missing teeth. They rest on neighboring intact teeth and replace missing teeth.
Implant overdentures: Fixed to dental implants, dentures are artificial teeth that are placed on implants and replace lost teeth.
Removable Dentures:

Total Dentures: These are dental prostheses attached to the upper and lower jaws for patients who have lost all their teeth.
Partial Dentures: They are used to replace only some missing teeth and are fixed as a support for natural teeth. They contain removable parts and adapt to the missing teeth in the mouth.
Night Spears or Athlete's Mouthpieces: Used for people who suffer from nighttime teeth clenching or bruxism. These dentures prevent pressure on the teeth and help protect them.
Dentures are made by a dentist or dental technician by taking impressions and customizing them. They are specially designed for each patient and fitted appropriately. The dentures are colored and shaped to meet the aesthetic requirements of the individual.

Dentures are an effective and widely used treatment method for replacing missing teeth or solving dental problems. These prostheses play an important role in improving the patient's quality of life and maintaining dental health.
